A single major storm has grounded well over a thousand combined flights across JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark in one day. It’s unlikely to touch your flight once you’re airborne over the Atlantic, but if you’re departing during those months, give yourself a real cushion getting to the airport. The storm doesn’t need to hit your flight directly to blow up your morning.
