Voco Makkah

Distance: Voco Makkah sits about 1.8 kilometers from Masjid al-Haram, roughly a 5 to 7 minute drive by taxi or the hotel’s complimentary shuttle. Walking is possible for fit guests in cooler hours, but not recommended given the distance and August heat.

Five full nights at Voco Makkah, one of our featured Makkah Hotels, is enough time for the shuttle routine to feel automatic  most pilgrims on this itinerary tell us the shuttle stops being a factor by day two or three. The modern rooms and quieter setting away from the densest crowds mean you’re actually resting between Haram visits rather than fighting foot traffic outside your door. Shuttle timing around your Umrah and Ziyarah schedule is coordinated through our Makkah transport service.

Your 10 Nights 4-Star Gold August Umrah Itinerary

A 10-night package means 10 nights of hotel stay in Saudi Arabia, working out to 11 days total — 5 nights in Makkah and 5 nights in Madinah. Pilgrims fly out and arrive on Day 1, spend all 10 nights across the two holy cities, and fly home on Day 11.

Day 1 — Depart USA / Arrive Makkah Land at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and transfer to Voco Makkah. Check in, rest after the flight, and change into Ihram — your group leader covers the intentions and rulings before your first shuttle ride to the Haram.

Day 2 — Perform Umrah Tawaf, Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and Halq or Taqsir, guided throughout by your group leader. Shuttle transport to and from the Haram is included for the full stay.

Day 3 — Ziyarat in Makkah A guided visit to Jabal al-Noor and the Cave of Hira, timed for the cooler early morning to avoid the height of August’s midday heat.

Day 4 — Free Day in Makkah An unstructured day to worship at your own pace, rest after the first days of travel, or take the shuttle back to the Haram whenever you’re ready.

Day 5 — Free Day in Makkah Your final day in this city. Make one last extended visit to the Haram before checking out of Voco Makkah.

Day 6 — Travel to Madinah Transfer via the Haramain High Speed Railway, a comfortable two-hour journey. Check in to Waqf Outhman Bin Affan Hotel on arrival, a short walk from the mosque.

Day 7 — Ziyarat in Madinah A guided visit to Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the Rawdah (subject to availability), and Quba Mosque.

Day 8 — Free Day in Madinah Additional time for worship at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, comfortably reachable on foot from Waqf Outhman Bin Affan Hotel.

Day 9 — Ziyarat in Madinah A guided visit to Mount Uhud, the Martyrs’ cemetery, and Masjid al-Qiblatain.

Day 10 — Free Day in Madinah Your final full day in Saudi Arabia. Spend extra time at the mosque, make any last du’as, and finish packing.

Day 11 — Departure Check out of Waqf Outhman Bin Affan Hotel and transfer to Madinah airport for your return flight to the USA.

Note: this is the standard routing most pilgrims choose — flying into Jeddah, starting in Makkah, and finishing in Madinah before departure. You can also fly directly into Madinah and begin your journey there instead. Let your travel consultant know your preference when booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ten nights allows a full 5/5 split between Makkah and Madinah, gives the Voco Makkah shuttle time to feel routine, and leaves built-in rest days to recover from the August heat between activities.
Yes — Voco Makkah and Waqf Outhman Bin Affan Hotel are identical across all three Gold durations. The only difference is the number of nights spent at each property and the total package price.
Custom night splits can be arranged on request. The 5/5 split listed here is our standard recommendation for 10-night Gold bookings, but our team can adjust it based on your priorities.
One guided Ziyarah day in Makkah (Jabal al-Noor and the Cave of Hira) and two in Madinah (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the Rawdah, and Quba Mosque; then Uhud, the Martyrs’ cemetery, and Masjid al-Qiblatain), each led by an English/Urdu-speaking guide.
Yes. Ten nights gives families enough free days to move at a comfortable pace and recover from the heat between activities, rather than the fatigue that comes with a tightly packed shorter trip.
Zowar International is closer, at about 170 meters versus Waqf Outhman Bin Affan’s 800 meters, but both are walkable. The Gold package trades a slightly longer walk for upgraded room quality and amenities.
No. The Makkah-to-Madinah rail transfer is included in your package and arranged by our team, so there’s nothing additional to book or pay for on the day.
