Voco Makkah
Distance: Voco Makkah, an IHG Hotel, sits about 1.7 kilometers (1.1 miles) from Masjid al-Haram. The complimentary 24-hour shuttle covers the distance in roughly 5 to 7 minutes and drops within a short walk of the Haram gates; walking directly takes closer to 20–25 minutes, which isn’t ideal in July’s heat.

Distance: Waqf Outhman Bin Affan Hotel is located under 1 kilometer from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, roughly a 6 to 8-minute walk to the mosque’s outer boundary (a little longer for elderly pilgrims), or about 5 minutes by car.
Madinah’s July evenings are noticeably kinder than Makkah’s daytime heat, and Waqf Outhman Bin Affan, featured on our Madinah Hotels page, puts you close enough to make the most of them an easy walk over for Maghrib or Isha without needing to plan around a shuttle timetable. With three nights here, most pilgrims comfortably fit in the full guided Ziyarah program plus extra time at the Rawdah. Local transfers run through our Madinah transport network.

Your 7 Nights 4-Star Gold July Umrah Itinerary
A 7-night package means 7 nights of hotel stay in Saudi Arabia, working out to 8 days total — 4 nights in Makkah and 3 nights in Madinah. Pilgrims fly out and arrive on Day 1, spend all 7 nights across the two holy cities, and fly home on Day 8.
Day 1 — Depart USA / Arrive Makkah Land at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and transfer to Voco Makkah. Check in, rest after the flight, and change into Ihram — your group leader walks you through the intentions and rulings before the shuttle takes you to the Haram.
Day 2 — Perform Umrah Tawaf, Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and Halq or Taqsir, guided step by step. Shuttle transport to and from the Haram is included, timed to avoid the worst of the midday July heat.
Day 3 — Ziyarat in Makkah A guided visit to Jabal al-Noor and the Cave of Hira, scheduled for early morning departure so the outdoor portion of the visit finishes before the day’s peak temperatures set in.
Day 4 — Free Day in Makkah Your last day in this city. Use the shuttle for an extra Tawaf, rest at the hotel through the hottest hours, or simply relax before checking out of Voco Makkah.
Day 5 — Travel to Madinah Transfer via the Haramain High Speed Railway, a climate-controlled two-hour ride between cities — a comfortable way to move between the holy cities in July. On arrival, check in to Waqf Outhman Bin Affan, a short walk from the Prophet’s Mosque.
Day 6 — Ziyarat in Madinah A guided visit to Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the Rawdah (subject to availability), and Quba Mosque.
Day 7 — Free Day in Madinah Your final full day in Saudi Arabia. With the hotel this close to the mosque, it’s easy to walk over for extra worship, finish any last du’as, and pack at your own pace.
Day 8 — Departure Check out of Waqf Outhman Bin Affan and transfer to Madinah airport for your return flight to the USA.
Note: this is the standard routing most pilgrims choose — flying into Jeddah, starting in Makkah, and finishing in Madinah before departure. You can also fly directly into Madinah and begin your journey there instead. Let your travel consultant know your preference when booking.
